TBS, the broadcasting company, had come to one great idea to host “Akasaka Art Flower 08”. With the collaboration of a broadcasting station and contemporary art, our intention was to help people be fascinated by the charm of art and to re-realize the hidden potential of“Akasaka”. This had became the theme of this event and we believe that “Akasaka Art Flower 08” would help “Akasaka” to be recognized as one of the cultural centre of Tokyo. The exhibition space spanned shrines, abandoned elementary school gymnasiums, old restaurants, akasaka Sacas, Tokyo Midtown, and shopping districts, and participating artists developed works that made use of these unique spaces. In addition, one of the exhibited works, Noboru Tsubaki "Polly Zeus", was continuously installed as a permanent work.
