Arts Towada / Towada Art Center
N and A
International Art Consulting Office
Since its establishment, N and A Inc. (collectively, “N and A”) has been engaged in the planning and management of museums and galleries; the curation and management of exhibitions and art festivals; the consulting of public art and corporate art; the coordination of symposiums and international conferences; and the editing of publications, all with a focus on contemporary art from the academic perspective.
In particular, N and A has made notable achievements in planning and realization of the Shinjuku I-Land Public Art Project; founding, planning, operation, and management of the Towada Art Center and the Hirosaki Museum of Contemporary Art; the Singapore Biennale in 2006 and 2008; the KENPOKU ART in 2016; and the Honolulu Biennial in 2017. Furthermore, the invitation and hosting of the International Committee for Museums and Collections of Modern Art (CIMAM, 1994) and the International Association of Art Critics (AICA, 1998) conferences in Japan has left an important mark on the history of Japanese art scene.
In today’s rapidly changing world, the importance of art thinking and art education in the fields of business and social activities are becoming more important. In light of these circumstances, N and A will continue to develop our programs in education, tourism, urban planning, and international cooperation, while keeping contemporary art at the core of our activities, in order to increase the art literacy and to build a flexible organization and active network of human resources for the new era of change. N and A hopes to share with many people the new meaning and the profound joy of living with art.
