Yokohama Triennale 2011 Yokohama Triennale is Japan’s leading international exhibition of contemporary art, held once every three years. First held in 2001, and subsequently in 2005 and 2008. This year’s edition, which marks the 10th anniversary of the founding of the Triennale, also features various related programs that offer visitors a chance to “look, nurture, connect.” Based on the theme “OUR MAGIC HOUR”, the YOKOHAMA TRIENNALE 2011 held at two main venues: the Yokohama Museum of Art and NYK Waterfront Warehouse (BankART Studio NYK). Focusing on works that allude to the magical mysterious powers in our daily lives and world as well as those that refer to mythology , myths and legend, The Triennale promises to be a vibrant exhibition that showcases the works of dynamic contemporary Japanese and international drawing on pieces from the collection of the Yokohama Museum of Art and other institutions.
