Mariko Mori “Seven Light Bay Project”

Public & Corporate Art Consulting
The natural beauty of the Karimata district on the island of Miyakojima has become a base for art and culture. As part of an initiative to preserve and revitalize the local environment, N&A installed the sculpture Sun Pillar at the mouth of the small cove of Nanako Bay.
As the sun sets, Sun Pillar casts a shadow—much like a sundial—onto another work, Moon Stone, to complete the large-scale installation Primal Rhythm. Moon Stone, which is currently being prepared for installation, will glow different colors according to the ebb and flow of the tide.
