Exhibition Planning, Curation & Coordination

This exhibition, an official supporting program of the Venice Biennale, marked the first time that Japan has participated in the Biennale in a form other than through the Japan Pavilion. It was held in a historic palace outside of the Biennale venue proper. In a time when the world is undergoing various transformations, the exhibition presented works by 15 artists from both Japan and elsewhere, all of whom share a focus on communication between people with different cultural identities. "TransCulture" was co-curated by Fumio Nanjo and Dana Friis-Hansen, and N&A was in charge of managing the exhibition. 【Artsist】 Gorden Bennett, Frédéric Bruly Bouabré, Guo Qiang Cai, Ping Chong, Simryn Gill, Joseph Grigely, Masao Kohmura, Shani Mootoo, Takashi Murakami, Shirin Neshat, Reamillo and Juliet, Technocrat, Ariana Varejao, World Tea Party, Rene Yung 【Basic information】 Period: 1995.6.11 – 1995.9.4 Venue: Palazzo Giustitian Colin [Fondazione Levi] (S.Vidal 2893 Venice, Italy) Organized by: The Japan Foundation, Fukutake Science and Culture Foundation Under the Auspices of: The 46th Venice Biennnale Special Support from: Benesse Corporation Additional Support from: Canid International Cultural Bureau of Foreign Affairs, Canada Council Japan-Canada Fund Cooperation from: Dai Nippon Printing Co.,Ltd.
