Exhibition Planning, Curation & Coordination

This exhibition, an official supporting program of the Venice Biennale, marked the first time that Japan has participated in the Biennale in a form other than through the Japan Pavilion. It was held in a historic palace outside of the Biennale venue proper. In a time when the world is undergoing various transformations, the exhibition presented works by 15 artists from both Japan and elsewhere, all of whom share a focus on communication between people with different cultural identities. "TransCulture" was co-curated by Fumio Nanjo and Dana Friis-Hansen, and N&A was in charge of managing the exhibition.
