The Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam is world-famous for its collection of a variety of works from the 20th century. As the museum building underwent large-scale restoration in preparation for the Museum's centennial celebration, a touring exhibition consisting of major pieces from its collection was brought to Japan. The exhibition introduced a range of time periods and artistic trends through 66 works by 55 artists, starting from late-19th-century Post-Impressionism and proceeding through the 20th century in chronological order.
