Held at the Frankfurter Kunstverein in Germany, this exhibition featured contemporary Japanese art and was organized under the umbrella of the Japan Foundation's overseas relations program for Japanese culture. The exhibition was jointly curated by Peter Weiermair and Fumio Nanjo. This exhibition of a diverse range of contemporary Japanese art, which was relatively unknown in Europe at the time, was significant as it came to further interest in Japanese art as a whole.
