For the 47th Venice Biennale, the world's oldest international exhibition, the Japan Foundation selected Fumio Nanjo as Commissioner of the Japan Pavilion, for which Nanjo curated Rei Naito's solo exhibition "One Place on the Earth." The works, the way of the installation were well received, and along with the characteristics that attendees had to take their shoes off before entering the space and that attendance was limited to a few viewers at a time, long lines formed in front of the Japan Pavilion, attracting considerable attention.
