The Kyushu Dental University Art Project was conceived to facilitate donations of artwork by alumni to the storied university commemorating the school's new campus design in 2006.
In addition to enhancing the school's endeavors in education, research, and medicine, the new buildings on campus took on an open, bright, and inviting design, making it more readily accessible to the local community. N&A helped the university decide on what art to install inside its rest areas located near the university entrance to encourage visitors to slow down and enjoy the art on campus, an artistic decision that sets this school apart from many others in Japan.
And because all of the works can be viewed from outside, anyone passing through can enjoy them.
The artworks installed across the new campus create a feeling of peace and tranquility, each containing a unique message for the students who will lead the next generation of dentistry.
