Matsushita Electric Works Ltd. Art Project
Categories :
Public & Corporate Art Consulting
This art project was commissioned by Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. (now Panasonic Corporation) for the company's new office building in Tokyo's Shiodome area. N&A installed several artworks selected for their subtle elegance and gentle airiness that would complement the building's delicate architectural design.
Suspended in midair is a bright white sculpture by Maurice Joosten, his first in Japan, its shape shifting with the perspective of the viewer and expressing the flow of time in a single, unbroken continuum. A painting by Isao Sato, created through a multi-layering process, is hung vertically, in perfect proportion to the atrium walls.
