Public & Corporate Art Consulting

N&A headed the Obayashi Corporation Art Project, which was the first fully-fledged corporate art project in Japan. The project received wide acclaim both in Japan and abroad for promoting a diverse range of internationally regarded artists from Europe, the US, and other countries in Asia. By attempting a bold fusion of architectural space and art—with artistic expression given to the functional parts of the building, such as walls and staircases—the project represents a watershed moment for the creation of new value in the office space. 【Artists】 Ettore Spalletti (Italy) / Yayoi Kusama (Japan) / Emi Fukuzawa (Japan) / Pascal Convert (France) / Ingo Günther (Germany) / François Morellet (France) / Langlands & Bell (UK) / Mariko Mori (Japan) / Choi Jeong Hwa (Korea) / Katsuhito Nishikawa (Japan) / David Tremlett (UK) / Yoshihiro Suda (Japan) / Giulio Paolini (Italy) / Daniel Buren (France) / Peter Halley (USA) / and various other artists. 【Basic information】 Location: Shinagawa Intercity (Minato-ku, Tokyo) Completed: 1999 Client: Obayashi Corporation Design & Supervision: Obayashi Corporation Design Department (Architectural Design), Obayashi Corporation (Construction) Number of Installations: 19 (18 artists)
